Summer has barely touched us this year and yet already thoughts turn to the Autumn/ Winter season, before we know it Christmas cards will be in all the high street stores!
Now, interiors are being ‘warmed up’, the nights begin to draw in and we start to think of long nights where we cosy up indoors, leaving the dark and cold outside.
Blue is a colour which has lost favour over the last few years, I remember (sadly…) in the 1980’s being one of the first to have a blue interior in my living room and like everything else, its making a comeback. Blue is huge this season but instead of the cooler shades of the 80’s, we have soft blues warmed up by the use of gold alongside it. Add interest by using rich textures and patterns, you can also update a very neutral decor by adding some soft blue cushions and accessories, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to keep up with the current trends. Blue is very versatile and looks great mixed with subtle greens, gold tones and warm woody browns, or shake it up and mix with orange for a pop of colour in an otherwise neutral setting.
